These include:

• the mark may be displayed on client letterhead, advertising, web site, promotional material or other literature that references the client
• the mark cannot be placed on manufactured or fabricated products, drawings, specifications, other documents or electronic media where it could be interpreted as meaning an approval of the client's products or services by the CWB.
• the mark must not be altered in any way or used in conjunction with any modifying terms or phrases.
• the mark must be used in its entirety, including the reference to the applicable certification standard (e.g. CSA W47.1).
• the mark may be resized to meet size requirements provided that the correct proportions are maintained. Use of any portion or part of the mark other than the whole is prohibited. No colour use or variation other than the options specified is permitted.
• permission to display the mark is conditional upon the client maintaining its certification. Loss of certification, for any reason, requires the immediate cessation of any and all use and display of the trademark, certification mark or logo.

Certification Services Representatives are responsible for verifying and documenting during audits that certified clients are using the applicable mark in a correct manner according to the conditions upon which their use was given. Misuse of the CWB

Misuse of the certification mark typically includes:

• misapplication of the certification mark by using it on drawings, specifications, reports, products etc. where it could be interpreted by others as meaning an approval by the CWB.
• unauthorized alterations including using different colors, additions or deletions, resizing which changes the proportions.
• unauthorized use of the certification mark by an individual or client to imply that a certification exists when in fact it does not.
